Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Just about every morning I start the day with a huge glass mug of my Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Drink. It may just be because I am dehydrated or maybe my body is in need of the boost from the “mother” the Turmeric or the Ginger. Whatever the case, I feel sooooooooooo much better after having my double of this hot drink. It’s super simple to put together & you can modify to suit your taste.  I usually free pour & chop without measuring anything.  To be fair, I haven’t had an espresso yet. I have given measured amounts in this recipe & trust that you will play with it until it tastes exactly as your body needs.

A Variation on my Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

A note about ACV: for this recipe the health benefits of the tonic are from a vinegar with a live “mother” or culture.  I use Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar.

Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Ingredients

8 oz Hot Water

1-2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar (with mother)

1 Inch fresh Turmeric cut into matchsticks or chopped

1 Inch fresh Ginger cut into matchsticks or chopped

1 Lemon slice or 1/2 Teaspoon Lemon juice

1 Squirt of Honey

Instructions

1

Heat Water

2

Peal & Chop Turmeric & Ginger. Put in a mug.

3

Add Apple Cider Vinegar. Lemon Slice or Juice & Honey to mug.

4

Pour boiling water over ingredients in mug. Stir. Let steep 3-4 minutes.

5

Ta Da! You’re Done!

6

Two small & mighty fun facts:
You can use a spoon to scrape off the skin of Ginger & Turmeric much more easily than cutting off with a knife.
Turmeric stains. Consider using a dark cutting board when chopping & watch hands, knife & cutting board after chopping Turmeric.

Variations: Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric Powder, Cinnamon, Stevia, Agave, & others all make excellent substitutions. Play around!
